We've known each other for quite a long time, probably about seven years. Craig (Nicholls) and I actually met while working at McDonald's - we were talking about music and realized we liked a lot of the same bands and just sort of got together that way. We just started jamming and recording on four-track [recorders], not really playing live. Craig was writing all these songs and we would just get together once a week and put songs together

Good, considering that there are eleven of us on the bus. We're pretty lucky because we've known each other for a long time, and all of the rest of the guys on the bus - our manager, the tour manager and the crew - are all really great. And we have a friend from home with us as well. Most of the time [the band members] get on really good. It's not really something that we even think about. It's just like being at home except [laughs] you're on a bus.

Everything that surrounds it that doesn't have anything to do with writing songs and playing. And how hard you have to fight to have creative freedom. It's quite a hard marriage of art and commerce.
