I think the unifying aspects of all the bands on this tour doesn't actually lie in the sounds but rather the intention of each project. For the most part each act on the bill more or less started their projects without having a live performance in mind, so it is interesting to see how everybody's songs have but manipulated for a show setting. Everyone is flying by the seat of their pants on this one.
