When I get off stage, I'm genuinely engaged with people. In the old days, you could have 20 minutes in the dressing room in which to come down from the show, because I do a very intense show, and kind of re-orientate yourself. Now because you've got to go out and sell records, that just doesn't happen any more, and the show's still juddering right through me. So I'm genuinely meeting people and I haven't got a fucking clue what they're called, and it's a problem, because afterwards, people expect to be remembered, in terms of the warmth that was apparently there between you.
